What Is Scalpel-Free Blepharoplasty?

Do your eyes look tired in the mirror even after many hours of sleep, and do you find it difficult to apply eyeshadow to the upper eyelid because of loose skin? This is a very common concern after the age of 30, and the solution can be just as simple!

Scalpel-Free Blepharoplasty is a painless, non-invasive treatment for skin laxity on the upper and lower eyelids, which can make the eyes look heavy and tired. It is an ideal option if you have mild eyelid laxity, if you do not wish to undergo surgical blepharoplasty involving incisions and stitches, or if your health condition does not allow you to do so.

OUR DOCTOR EXPLAINS THE TREATMENT

Scalpel-Free Blepharoplasty

What It Is

This is a quick and painless treatment that reverses signs of ageing around the eyes without surgery, a scalpel, incisions or stitches! The treatment is performed in the clinic under local anaesthesia and can be applied to the upper eyelid, the lower eyelid or both, depending on your needs.

During the treatment, the doctor uses a special device to vaporise the excess skin and the stratum corneum, causing immediate tissue contraction and tightening. The result will be visible even after the first session: reduced laxity and a more rested, youthful-looking eye area.

Benefits

  • Painless application, without incisions, stitches or surgery

  • Reduces excess skin on the eyelids

  • Treats eyelid laxity

  • Provides visible skin tightening

  • Eliminates wrinkles

  • Creates a more youthful and rested-looking eye area

The Procedure Step by Step

Step 1

During your visit, the doctor assesses the degree of eyelid laxity and whether you are an ideal candidate for this treatment. She explains the procedure and the expected result to you in detail.

Step 2

The nurse applies anaesthetic cream to the treatment area so that the procedure is completely painless. The doctor then marks the area to be treated.

Using the special device, the doctor painlessly creates multiple tiny treatment spots, approximately the size of a pencil tip, vaporising the stratum corneum. Over the following days, as these microscopic wounds heal, the skin contracts and tightens.

Once the treatment is complete, the nurse applies a healing cream to the area and you receive instructions on how to care for it over the following days.

  • After the Treatment

During the first few days after treatment, irritation and mild oedema (swelling) may appear in the treated area. Gradually, the vaporisation points turn into tiny scabs, which should be left to fall off on their own so that marks do not form. Applying a healing cream is important for faster skin recovery.

  • Be Careful in the Sun

For the following days, until the area has fully healed, it is important to use strong sun protection both when you are outdoors and when you are using screens, for example a computer, tablet or mobile phone.
