Total Plasma Lift

What it it?

The Total Plasma Lift anti-aging protocol is a bloodless lift created by combining the two most effective deep regeneration treatments, Fractional Laser and PRP. The application is painless and the glow and lift effect begins to be seen immediately and becomes more and more impressive with each passing day.

This is a very effective, combo treatment for deep regeneration, hydration, tightening and smoothing of the skin on the face, neck and décolleté. It can also be applied to various areas of the body, in fact anywhere we want to correct skin problems such as scars, wrinkles, sagging and stretch marks. Finally, it has very good results on discolorations, freckles and melasma on the face or body.

How does it work?

The Total Plasma Lift anti-aging treatment consists of the combination of two top treatments, Fractional Laser CO2 and PRP.

In the first step of the treatment, Fractional Laser beams selectively scan the entire surface of the skin, acting on the deeper layers of the epidermis, resulting in the “awakening” of fibroblasts, the cells that produce collagen and elastin. Fractional Laser, making use of fractional technology, creates tiny holes in the skin surface allowing for better penetration of the active stem cells, which are injected into the epidermis with the PRP treatment that follows.

The second step, autologous PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) stem cell mesotherapy, takes advantage of the regenerative and healing properties of blood plasma. PRP is applied injectably, or with Microneedling, to the face, even in the most sensitive areas such as the area around the eyes and mouth, and enhances the repair mechanism, tightening and production of new collagen, while fading fine wrinkles and acne scars more quickly for complete facial rejuvenation.

Face

The treatment can be applied all over the face, by “scanning” the skin in the first step of the Fractional Laser and injecting the valuable and deeply regenerative PRP plasma in the second step. The treatment provides almost immediate tightening and hydration and in the weeks to come you will see your skin more radiant, smooth and evenly toned.

Eyes & Mouth

The Total Plasma Lift protocol that we apply at Cosmetic Derma Medicine includes a third step, the application of PRP with the Microneedling head, expanding the treatment areas on the sensitive skin around the eyes and mouth. Bags under the eyes are reduced while small lines and wrinkles around the eyes and upper lip are noticeably smoothed.

Total Plasma Lift

Step by step

1st Step

During your appointment you discuss with the dermatologist who evaluates your skin and suggests treatment areas. The doctor explains the treatment process and what to expect after the session.

Before starting the treatment, the practitioner proceeds with a simple blood draw and centrifuges the blood. When the centrifugation is complete, the plasma, a yellowish liquid that has a higher concentration of platelets compared to their normal presence in the blood, is collected.

2nd Step

In the meantime, the aesthetician carefully cleans your skin and asks you to remove any jewellery. Depending on the extent of the area to be treated, an anaesthetic cream may be applied topically. At this stage you need to wait 15-20 minutes for the cream to take effect.

Before starting the treatment, the aesthetician removes the anaesthetic cream and applies special eye protection glasses to protect the eyes in order to start the treatment.

The Total Plasma Lift treatment starts with the application of Fractional Laser.

3rd Step

The treatment starts with the application of the Fractional Laser. The doctor adjusts the special spot size of the laser in size and shape so that no part of the skin in the treatment areas is left uncovered, adjusts the energy, power and depth of action of the laser. Then, it scans the surface of the skin of the face or neck with the beam.

During application, we observe dots (so-called dots) forming on the skin surface from the laser action. This happens because the fractional laser energy beam is split into smaller beams and creates controlled injury at specific points, so that healing by the neighbouring healthy skin cells is accelerated.

4th Step

After the laser, the PRP phase follows. Using a very fine syringe, the doctor injects the plasma solution into the skin, covering the selected part of the face with several small “pinches”. These pricks form bumps on the surface of the skin, like small blisters, which disappear over the next few hours.

For an even more enhanced effect, in the Total Plasma Lift treatment an additional step follows: The scanning of the skin with the special Microneedling head that painlessly creates tiny “channels” on the surface of the epidermis to allow the plasma solution to penetrate the skin to the required depth.

The great advantage of the Microneedling head is that in the hands of an experienced dermatologist it can even be applied to the sensitive skin around the eyes and mouth.

Dr. Konstantina Mamali applies PRP and completes the Total Plasma Lift treatment.

5th Step

At the end of the treatment, the nurse cleans the skin at the application sites and will apply antibiotic ointment as a precautionary measure. This is followed by the application of a rich moisturizer and sunscreen for complete protection from the sun and then the doctor will give you advice on how to care for your skin in the days to come.

In any case, there may be a mild swelling, redness and perhaps bruising (bruises) at some points of application for a few hours after the application of the treatment.

Mild redness of the skin after fractional laser may last 12-48 hours.

Cool compresses and a cream with arnica may help it to subside more quickly.

In general, no. In people taking anticoagulant medications, it is recommended to stop them for a few days – always with the consent of the doctor who is monitoring them – to reduce the possibility of effusions.

Also, facial therapy is not indicated for people who have severe skin infections, psoriasis in the area of application, herpetic infection, or allergies. As a precaution, women who are pregnant should wait until the end of pregnancy.

Finally, it is not recommended if there are specific health problems such as the following:

Hepatitis C
HIV or AIDS
Any form of blood cancer

Like any other aesthetic treatment, PRP mesotherapy is considered very safe and any mild side effects will resolve on their own in a few hours to a day or two.

Possible side effects include local inflammation at the injection site and minor bruising (bruising).
