What is it and how does it work?

HIFU (High Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is a non-invasive treatment that uses high frequency focused ultrasound technology to target the deeper layers of the skin without affecting its surface. It is one of the popular anti-aging facial treatments, as it is non-invasive and offers significant and long-lasting results.

HIFU facial treatment for bloodless lifting acts in multiple ways:

The head your doctor chooses for your treatment emits ultrasound that focuses at the depth he or she has chosen, depending on the area of the face. There, the heat emitted by the ultrasound destroys fat cells – forever! The result is firmer, “fuller” skin, with fewer wrinkles and sagging. Step by step

1st Step

At the first meeting with the doctor you discuss your expectations and are informed about the treatment. The doctor assesses your needs and you discuss the necessary number of sessions.

2nd Step

Before starting the treatment, the aesthetician cleans your face thoroughly. Following the doctor’s instructions, the area where the HIFU heads will be moved is determined and the necessary adjustments are made to the device.

The aesthetician applies the special ultrasound gel and touches the ultrasound head to your skin. If you initially feel something like a stinging sensation, it is normal and subsides immediately after application.

The advanced ultrasound technology precisely focuses on the deeper tissues in the selected areas, increasing their temperature, resulting in the activation of fibroblasts and the production of new collagen.

The nurse applies the ultrasound gel for HIFU treatment.

3rd Step

Upon completion of the treatment, the aesthetician cleans your face from the gel residues. There may be a mild irritation in the area of ultrasound action that subsides immediately. The practitioner gives you instructions for the following days to enhance and accelerate the effect of the treatment.

Which age groups are targeted by HIFU face

Strange as it may sound, the ageing process, marked by the slowing down of cell renewal, starts during the 20s, with a decrease in the production of collagen and elastin.

But to answer the question of which ages are most suitable for HIFU treatment, women and men aged 30-45 are the “ideal candidates”, as these are the ages when the body’s response to the treatment is immediate, the results are more impressive and longer lasting. In these ages, HIFU is usually applied as a monotherapy, meaning that a single treatment is sufficient for impressive and long-lasting results.

But for people from 45 to 65 years old, who do not wish to undergo a painful and costly surgical lift, HIFU facial is an excellent alternative. The profound effect of focused ultrasound activates the body’s natural self-healing process, resulting in tightening, regeneration and smoothing of the skin in the selected areas. However, HIFU may not be the right treatment for everyone. In general, the procedure is indicated for people over the age of 30 with mild to moderate skin laxity. Older women and men with more severe photoaging and pronounced skin sagging may need more treatments to see results.
