What is it?

Brotox is actually the same treatment as Botox. It works by reducing the mobility of the muscles that, by their constant contraction, cause wrinkles on the face: the treatment is successful and proven, with millions of injections performed all over the world and correspondingly millions of people enjoying in their daily life a smoother, younger and renewed skin!

Areas of application

1st Step

Before the treatment is applied, the nurse applies an anaesthetic cream that makes the procedure completely painless. Then, the doctor asks you to make certain expressions (surprise, smile, frown, anger…). This way, she determines how the muscles are contracted and observes the wrinkles that form in order to precisely identify the injection points and the units of material necessary to obtain the desired result. Before proceeding with the application, he marks the injection points with a pencil.

2nd Step

The doctor proceeds with the botulinum toxin injections at the points he or she has chosen. The procedure is painless and takes only a few minutes.

How Botox differs from Brotox

This is the same treatment with botulinum toxin. One difference is that more units are required in men due to anatomical differences in the muscular system. Men are also recommended to be treated with Dysport, a botulinum toxin with greater efficacy and duration.
What is the ideal age for Brotox

There is no “ideal” age. Many young men start Brotox treatment to prevent the formation of expression wrinkles on their face while older men choose it to smooth wrinkles on the forehead, midface and around the eyes in order to make their face look relaxed and more youthful again.

Prior to the treatment

If you are taking medication for blood pressure (anticoagulants or aspirin in various forms) discuss with your doctor whether you can stop taking them for a few days to reduce the chance of bruising at the treatment sites. The same applies if you are taking dietary supplements that may have a similar effect (vitamin E, omega-3 fatty acids, gingo biloba and ginseng).

Some days before the treatment avoid drinking alcohol as it has vasodilator properties, which means that small bruises are more likely to appear at the injection sites.

Post-treatment

For the next few hours, according to your doctor’s recommendations, avoid lying down and touching your face at the treatment sites as this may affect the effect of Brotox. If you are having Brotox in the afternoon, try to sleep on your back on the first night with a high pillow so that your head is slightly elevated.

Drinking alcohol after Brotox is not a good idea as it can increase the chances of bruising and swelling on the face. Avoid it for 2-3 24 hours after the treatment.

If small bruises appear in some areas, ice compresses for a few minutes every hour can help as long as you remember not to press your skin.

FAQs

Most are mild and disappear in a few hours or days: a feeling of heaviness in the face, small bruises, or swelling at the injection site. It is believed to be caused by a malfunction of the eye blink control center and often causes problems for patients and prevents them from reading, driving, or watching television. The occurrence of blepharospasm is more common in women than in men. With the help of Botox, the normal mobility of the eyelids is restored and any problems are prevented.
In Strabismus, people who are expected to have surgery and until then have to deal with the problem. Botox essentially achieves temporary paralysis of a muscle until the balance between the two eyes is achieved. It is a myth that as the applications of Brotox increase it loses its effect! No, Botox does not paralyze muscles. It just makes it difficult for the nerve to communicate with the muscle without damaging either the muscles or the nerves.
