The cost also depends on the number of hairs extracted and implanted, the length of the procedure (one-day or two-day surgery), the existence of scars from a previous FUT/Strip procedure and the desire to cover them, and whether the Unshaven FUE Hair Transplant is chosen.

It is important to note that hair transplantation is a safe procedure with a high success rate. However, like any surgery, there is always a risk of complications.

Hair transplantation can involve the following risks, but compared to the FUT technique, in FUE the complications are much milder and more easily and quickly treatable.

• Pain and discomfort: The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, which is effective in relieving pain. However, some patients may experience mild pain or discomfort after surgery, which is managed with painkillers.
• Redness, swelling and bruising: The area around the surgery may experience redness, swelling (edema) and bruising. • Infection: Infection is a rare but serious risk of hair transplantation caused by bacteria, fungi or viruses. Symptoms of infection include redness, swelling, pain, and discharge of fluid from the area of the procedure. It requires immediate treatment with antibiotics or antifungal medications.
• Loss of transplanted hair: In rare cases, transplanted hair may fall out. This can be due to several factors, such as poor transplant technique, taking certain medications or having certain medical conditions.
• Other complications: Other possible complications of hair transplantation that have been observed in the FUT method include, in addition to scarring, alteration of hair color and texture.

Swelling after hair transplantation, the so-called swelling, is common due to the body’s reaction and usually occurs 2-3 days after the surgery.

If you had an FUE hair transplant, the chances of developing excessive swelling are minimal. However, if you chose FUT hair transplant, the cutting of a strip of skin and the resulting disruption of blood vessels leads to inflammation and fluid build-up in the scalp tissues, significantly increasing swelling.

After FUE surgery, any swelling is expected to be mild and to subside in a few days. In contrast, after FUT surgery, swelling may last 1 – 2 weeks.

The severity and duration of swelling varies from person to person and is influenced by factors such as the extent of tissue trauma, the inflammatory response and the body’s ability to heal.

In addition to surgical technique, the skill and experience of the surgeon plays an important role in the extent of tissue trauma. In addition, although it is a local anaesthesia, the amount and duration of anaesthesia may affect the size of the swelling.

To deal with swelling after hair transplantation, follow these tips:

Month 1

After the procedure, the patient may experience mild irritation and swelling in the area of the procedure. These symptoms usually subside within a few days.

The transplanted hair will start to fall out during this month, but this should not be a cause for concern. They fall off in order for new hair to grow in their place.

Month 2

The swelling and irritation have subsided. The transplanted hair will continue to fall out.

Month 3

The transplanted hair will begin to grow back. This will continue for the next few months.

Months 4-6

The transplanted hair will have grown enough to cover the area of the surgery. However, the hair will still be thin and will need time to mature.

Months 7-12

The transplanted hair will have fully matured. They will have the same appearance and texture as the rest of your hair.

Results

The final results of hair transplantation will be visible after about 12 months. The patient will have a thicker and healthier crown.

It is important to note that hair transplant results can vary from person to person. Some patients may see results more quickly than others.
