Bloodless rhinoplasty

What is it?

Non-surgical rhinoplasty is performed without surgery and scalpel, which is why it is called “bloodless”. Because it is performed by injecting hyaluronic acid, it is also called ‘liquid rhinoplasty’. Its results can be similar to those of a nose job, but with far fewer risks, painlessly and at a much lower cost.

A bloodless rhinoplasty is performed with an injectable hyaluronic acid filler injected into the soft tissue to help modify and correct the shape of the nose. A non-surgical nose job can lift the tip, correct a dorsal bulge or create a nasal bridge to cover the hump of the nose.

It is also highly effective in adding volume and symmetry to the nose. The end result is a more aesthetically harmonious nose contour.

Bloodless rhinoplasty

Step by step

1st Step

During the visit, the doctor examines the shape of your nose and discusses the result you may have with the use of hyaluronic acid filler.

Before the hyaluronic acid is injected, the nurse cleans the skin and applies anaesthetic cream to make the treatment completely painless.

2nd Step

The doctor performs the treatment with a series of injections of hyaluronic acid fillers with a special needle or cannula in the areas of the nose that need correction.

The procedure is painless and short.

3rd Step

The bridge and the tip of the nose are shaped to the desired shape. Locally at the injection sites there is a slight irritation and perhaps mild swelling, but this quickly subsides.

The result is immediately visible and as soon as the swelling subsides you see it in its final form. The doctor gives you instructions for the next few days and you can return to your daily activities immediately.

Injectable materials (fillers) can bring about significant improvements in the appearance of the nose in the following cases:

Reshaping the nose. Injectables can be used to straighten the nose, resulting in a more harmonious facial profile.
The nose can be shaped to create a more natural-looking nose that can be shaped to create a harmonious shape, allowing the nose to be shaped in a more natural way. Filler can smooth out a mild bump on the nasal bridge or correct the appearance of a flat (flattened) nose.
Change in the bridge of the nose. Injection therapy can make the bridge appear thinner or wider.

Non-surgical rhinoplasty is not indicated if you want to reduce the size of your nose or smooth out large lumps. Non-surgical nose surgery offers, with regular maintenance treatments, long-term results, but does not bring about permanent changes to the nose.

If you want drastic change, such as making your nose smaller then, depending on the situation, you may need to consider the surgical solution of rhinoplasty. In either case, the practitioner will advise you on which procedure is most suitable for you and help you achieve the desired result.

Helpful information

Prior to the treatment

If you are taking medication for blood thinning, stop taking it for a few days – always with your doctor’s consent. Similarly, some supplements such as vitamin E, omega-3 fatty acids, gingo biloba and ginseng and alcohol have vasodilator properties, which means that small bruises will be more likely to appear at the injection sites, so it is also helpful to stop taking them a few days before.

Post-treatment

After treatment, it is possible that small bruising and/or mild swelling may occur at the injection site. They will subside quickly but it is best to avoid treatment in the days before an important and special outing or occasion.

Apply topical ice and arnica cream which helps them to subside more quickly.

However, it is advisable to avoid wearing glasses for the first 48 hours and use them minimally for the first two weeks as they may affect the results.

The results of non-surgical rhinoplasty are reversible if you are not happy with them.If you don’t like your new appearance, you can immediately restore it to its previous state without risk of collapse or nose deformity.
Because the results of bloodless rhinoplasty are temporary, your nose will usually regain its previous shape after 8 to 12 months. The duration of the effect depends on how quickly each body dissolves the injectable material (hyaluronic acid).

If you want you can immediately change the result of non-surgical rhinoplasty. By injecting an enzyme (hyaluronidase), hyaluronic acid dissolves within a few hours. So if you are not happy with your nose’s new shape, we can put it back exactly where it was.

Hyaluronidase is safe and has been used in aesthetic medicine for many years. Its effectiveness has been tested in several medical studies. It is used in those cases where patients change their minds and cannot get used to themselves differently or may not be happy with the result.

Recovery after hyaluronidase injection is visible within a few minutes. It is safe, as it only affects the synthetic hyaluronic acid and not the one that is naturally present in our body.

Wait at least 48 hours before wearing glasses or sunglasses. Frequent use of glasses for the first two weeks after rhinoplasty may cause indentations in the nose at the injection site. This is because the injection is still quite malleable and the pressure from the glasses can alter the result of the rhinoplasty. So when you put your glasses back on, place them lightly on the bridge of your nose. It is advisable to wear glasses with lightweight frames that do not put pressure on the nose or contact lenses. In any case, if you wear glasses, tell your doctor before starting treatment to give you guidelines according to your situation.
