CDM Educational event: children and summer - sun protection tips

Dr. Amalia Tsiatoura and Dr. Konstantina Mamali informed the children and kindergarten teachers of the Bodin Kindergarten about the “rules” of safe sun exposure in summer.

Protection from the sun was the occasion for a special action of Cosmetic Derma Medicine. Responding with pleasure to the invitation of the Bodin Kindergarden to inform the children about sun protection, Dr. Amalia Tsiatoura, Dermatologist – Venereologist, Scientific Director of Cosmetic Derma Medicine Medical Group and Dr. Constantina Mamali, Dermatologist – Aphrodisiologist, Deputy Scientific Director of Cosmetic Derma Medicine Medical Group and Scientific Director of CDM Kifissia Clinic, visited the kindergarten on Wednesday 22 May and talked to the children about how to enjoy the sun and summer holidays safely.

One of the most challenging things for scientists is the simplification of medical information. Especially when that information is aimed at children from 3 to 6 years old, like the enthusiastic “audience” of CDM doctors! However, both Dr. Tsiatoura and Dr. Mamali managed to gain the attention of even the youngest children, to talk with them patiently and with great enthusiasm, to inform them through interactive games and question and answer questions about how important it is to protect ourselves effectively from the sun in summer and all year round.

Regular application of sunscreen on the face and body, the right amount and repetition on the beach, playing in the shade, wearing a hat and sunglasses, and the importance of hydration dominated this special and very “lively” discussion. This is not the first time, and certainly will not be the last, that CDM doctors have rushed to offer their scientific knowledge to children and adults, practicing the profession of medicine with respect and dedication.
