Dermatologist - Venereologist Dr. Ilias Kafkas

Dr. Ilias Kafkas is a graduate of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

He has worked as a Resident Physician in Internal Medicine at the Pathology Clinic of the General Hospital of Agios Nikolaos in Crete and as a Rural Service Doctor at the Thrapsano Primary Health Care Center in Heraklion, Crete.

He specialized in Dermatology – Venereology at Greece’s largest dermatology hospital, the Athens Hospital for Skin and Venereal Diseases “Andreas Syggros.”

He holds a PhD from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, with his dissertation focusing on “The Study of Fungal Flora in Psoriatic Plaques.”

Dr. Ilias Kafkas holds a PhD from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, with a dissertation on “The Study of Fungal Flora in Psoriatic Plaques.”

He pursued postgraduate studies at the Medical School of Democritus University of Thrace, earning a Master of Science (MSc) degree as part of the postgraduate program on “Occupational Health and Safety.”

As part of the Continuing Medical Education program of the American Academy of Dermatology, he successfully completed specialized training programs in Cosmetic Dermatology.

He also attended specialized Cosmetic Dermatology seminars in the United States under the pioneering UCLA Professor of Dermatology, Dr. Howard Murad.

In the healthcare sector, he serves as the Editorial Supervisor of the Medical Journal of the Panhellenic Medical Association, Iatriko Vima, and as the Editor-in-Chief of the scientific dermatology journal INFO DERMA. He has also held administrative positions as Director of the “Sismanogleio – Amalia Fleming – Penteli Children’s Hospital” and the “Agia Pronoia Pammakaristos” Hospital. He is a member of several medical scientific societies and serves as Vice President of the Hellenic Academy of Thermal Medicine.

For over two decades, Dr. Kafkas has continuously enriched his expertise in Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology through active participation in numerous significant conferences on dermatology and related fields.

His contributions include participation in distinguished scientific meetings at both national and international congresses on Dermatology-Venereology, Anti-Aging Medicine, Thermal Medicine, Dermatological Diseases and Diabetes, Skin Oncology, and Laser Dermatologic Surgery.

He has been actively involved in medical conferences as a speaker, a member of scientific committees, and an author of scientific publications.

Dr. Kafkas possesses extensive professional experience and expertise as a Dermatologist-Venereologist in Dermatology-Venereology clinics, dealing with cases of Clinical Dermatology, Sexually Transmitted Diseases, Dermatologic Surgery, Laser applications, and the use of innovative materials in Aesthetic Dermatology for the face and body.
