Penile Fimosis

Penile phimosis is a term used to describe the condition where the glans penis is unable to be uncovered. The skin covering the glans is quite narrow, so it pulls back the “cuticle” and the penis head cannot be uncovered.

“The skin of the foreskin that covers the glans is narrow enough that by pulling back the skin, the head of the penis cannot be revealed. In adult men, the most common cause of Penile phomosis is chronic inflammation due to poor local hygiene”, explains the Plastic Surgeon Dr. Ioannis Dalianoudis.

FAQ

How is circumcision performed?

Circumcision is a very common and routine procedure. In the case of adults, it is performed under local anesthesia, while in childhood it is performed under general anesthesia. No hospitalization is required and the patient can return home immediately. It is recommended to refrain from physical exercise for about 1 month, the time required for healing.
