Hyaluronic acid implants are the solution for the wrinkles on the lips, mouth and cheeks. Hyaluronic acid is also used to increase the volume of the lips and cheekbones.
Hyaluronic acid is a glycosaminoglycan, a natural component of our skin. Injectable hyaluronic acid is an excellent filling material for the wrinkles on the lips and face. Under the skin, hyaluronic acid retains water molecules and aids the binding of collagen and elastin fibers. The wrinkles fade while skin remains firm and hydrated. At Cosmetic Derma Medicine we use only the most known hyaluronans.
Hyaluronic acid is injected under the epidermis, filling the wrinkles around the lips, mouth, and enhancing cheekbones and lips’ volume. Treatment with hyaluronic acid is quick, painless (performed under local anesthesia) and safe. Its results may be seen immediately, and last up to 1 year.
Areas where hyaluronic acid is applied:
lip augmentation(full, plump lips)
dark circles under the eyes
forehead, eyes, glabella wrinkles (usually after botox)
Hyaluronic acid is marketed by major companies in Greece, and certified by European and American bodies, which guarantees its safety.
Very rarely, however, adverse reactions may occur, and these include:
• Allergic reaction manifested with swelling and redness, which subsides with the use of corticosteroids (extremely rare)
• Infection, if hygiene rules are not followed
If you are not satisfied with the result, we can reverse it with hyaluronidase.
Hyaluronidase is an enzyme (protein) that destroys hyaluronic acid. It has been used in medicine for years, as a mean to increase absorption of certain medications. In cosmetic medicine, hyaluronidase is considered a valuable compound, because it acts as a substance that can immediately break down hyaluronic acid.
Hyaluronidase is used when patients change their minds and do not want their cheeks or lips to look so full anymore, because they cannot get used to seeing themselves different. A patient may not be satisfied, because his/her doctor made a bad estimation, and the result looks extreme (for instance too full lips).
Hyaluronidase immediately dissolves the hyaluronic acid that has been absorbed by the body, and the result is visible within a few minutes. Hyaluronidase is safe as it only acts on the synthetic hyaluronic acid, and not the one that naturally exists in our body.
The cost of treatment depends on the number and depth of the wrinkles.
The prices for treatment with hyaluronic acid indicatively start at €160 /ml, but are usually formed depending on the quantity of the material required.
Or other methods of plastic surgery.
FAQ’s about hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic acid is also a natural substance present in our epidermis. Once injected into the skin, hyaluronic acid binds with the hyaluronic acid produced by our body and enhances it, restoring the lost volume of our skin and erasing the wrinkles.
