Dr. Amalia Tsiatoura, Dermatologist-Venereologist
Dr. Amalia Tsiatoura is Dermatologist-Venereologist, graduate of the Medical University of Ioannina and received her medical degree with grade "Excellent".
She has worked for several years in the Departments of Pathology and Pathological Anatomy at the University Hospital of Ioannina and she completed her specialty of Dermatology – Venereology at the largest Dermatology Hospital in Greece, Skin and Venereal Disease Hospital A. Syggros in Athens, where she currently holds a position of scientific partner at the Department of Peeling - Hyperhidrosis and the Department of Psoriasis.
She completed her postgraduate studies with a scholarship in Cosmetic Dermatology and Laser at the University of Colorado Hospital, in Denver, Colorado, U.S.
She is considered one of the leading experts in aesthetic laser applications in Greece and Europe. She divides her time between medical applications and scientific management of the center of Cosmetic Derma Medicine in Athens and the Centre for Aesthetic Med Center in New Cavendish str. in London.
It is an expert on cutaneous oncology and dermoscopy methods as well as mapping moles, with further training held at the Department of Dermatology, University of Graz, Austria.
Her PhD thesis is entitled "Immunohistochemical study of angiogenesis and lemfangeiogenesis in basal and squamous cell carcinoma of the skin and in pre-malignant skin lesions. Correlation with clinical parameters." She has also participated as “investigator” in many research protocols and clinical studies of psoriasis and other dermatological diseases.
Her articles have been published in in many prestigious international and Greek journals and she has been invited to participate as a speaker and coordinator in several international and Greek conferences. She has published articles in daily newspapers and many journals and has participated as a guest on many TV shows of medical interest.
During and after her specialization, she has been awarded with several awards for presenting scientific papers at conferences and in 2009 she has granted a special scholarship in memory of Prof. J.D. Stratigos from the 3rd Clinic of Hospital. A. Syggros.
She is married and mother of 2 children.
