FAQ’s on blepharoplasty

Can the problem reappear after blepharoplasty?

Although its results are permanent, and with proper care your face and eyes will continue to look young and fresh for several years, skin aging is an evolving process that cannot be stopped.

How much time will I have to refrain from work?

Although blepharoplasty is a minimally invasive surgery, usually performed under local anesthesia within 1 or 2 hours and doesn’t require hospitalization, patients are advised to avoid intense or physical activity for 5 to 7 days.

Is blepharoplasty painful?

Blepharoplasty is a practically painless procedure. Any mild pain, edema or bruising that might appear on the eyelids, will be effectively treated with mild painkillers (such as Depon or Ponstan). In most cases the symptoms will gradually subside and disappear within 5 to 7 days.

Does blepharoplasty leave marks or scars?

In the hands of qualified plastic surgeons, blepharoplasty is a completely controlled and safe procedure. Moreover, the proper placement of incisions on the natural folds of the eyelids, when these are open, and on the palpebral edge at the lower eyelid guarantee that the thin incisions will be practically indistinguishable or invisible.
